who is coming to Berlin?
Well, in my German class, we are a wild bunch. There’s us two, one French, one Chinese, one Saudi, one newzellanden (I think this is the way it’s spelled), one Swede, one Canadian and one Uzbekistani an. All different. All liking Berlin.
The French girl was telling me Berlin is a better city to be living in than Paris. That may be true…I liked Paris when visited last year.
language barriers
How do you tell an Englishman that you do not speak German on the streets of Berlin? In French, of course.
renting a car in Berlin is hard
Took me half an hour to rent a car. No sites, no usability, no English, no cars, no car details…
How do you want to rent a car to foreigners if you do not have a website in English? And why do you send me the order details in German?
kind people
The fun part about living in a half-immigrant neighborhood in Berlin is that you don’t have to speak German. People understand you and they treat you nice, maybe just because they remember the time they come to this country and didn’t speak the language. And the Germans are nice, they probably got used to it. And I try and I think they appreciate it.
