It doesn’t. It’s just put back into its place.

Bogdan Naumovici, famous advertising man, explained the reason the print and TV dies in one question: why pay 7 Euros for something that it’s not worth that much? Recent years has shown us the results can be the same with 10% of the money invested. So why pay more?

And he is right. Prices for print and TV advertising were through the roof before the economic crisis. And not justified, people realized now. Can we tell how many copies that magazine sold? No. Can we tell how many people saw that ad? No. So, what were they paying for? For estimates? Seems so.

The print dies because the advertising money is not coming anymore.

We are ready to negotiate!

This is one of my favorite movie scenes.

Some weeks ago, a company gave up the banner they had displayed on my site. Even thought they were selling through it, they said the price is too high for them. I said ok and we parted friends. Some time after, they came back, asking for their banner back. I said ok and told them the new prices. They said they are too high for them and are not buying. I said ok and wish them the best. After a couple days, they came back, agreeing to the prices. I didn’t respond, even if they send one more email.

This is, basically, my technique. I need them, they need me. They make good money with a banner on my blog, so if they bitch about my very reasonable prices it means they are trying to negotiate the prices down. I wouldn’t be me if I’d let them

Little lies

“How to Web” is a new conference taking place in Bucharest sometime soon. Looking at the team in charge of the event, i couldn’t help notice some of the little lies.

For example, Raluca Georgescu created “Raluk.ro, one of the most important local entertainment websites”. I never heard of it until yesterday, and i spend a lot of hours online. Why lie? People already know you as a former office manager, lying only attracts attention to you and articles like this one are born.

So, yea, can’t wait!

Did Microsoft made Google great?

In the begining there was Internet Explorer. The fact that all spyware was directed to it made Firefox gain 10-20% marketshare. Inserting the search box on the top right of the browser made Google the king of search.

Lada Niva

I am thinking about buying a second car. And because Brasov is a city in the mountains, a 4×4 car is in order. For now, i am thinking about a Lada Niva. A simple and strong car, at a small price. Good for messing around with it in a cold winter.
